The National Museum of Australia has HEAPS on to celebrate Australia Day!
Family Festival: A world of history and culture
Between 10am – 2pm, dress up and celebrate history and the many cultures of Australia at the family festival, inspired by the “A History of the World in 100 Objects” exhibition. There’ll be historical battle enactments, falconry demonstrations, craft, games, entertainment and more! Charges apply to some activities.
Live music and games
Enjoy live music and free games as the sun sets on Australia Day. Bring a picnic or grab a pie and settle in for the fireworks at 9pm. There’ll be performances by the Franklyn B Paverty bush band, Dr Stovepipe and The Crossbones. And why not challenge your friends to a game of giant Jenga, Connect 4 or the Viking-inspired Kubb!
Cocktail party
Get the full VIP treatment this Australia Day at a cocktail party held at the Museum Bar! Enjoy great food, drinks and entertainment and watch the fireworks from the best lakeside view in town! The “A History of the World in 100 Objects from the British Museum” will also be open! Numbers are limited.
